“To me, it represents my greatest personal achievement and my first success, but that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is what it represents in the family. For us, it's the right to bear the Mayol family name. It also represents our passage from a mere recruit to a true sailor. My little piece of bone, as you call it, is part of a whole, solid and united: the Mayol family. Our dagger is recognized and respected by other families because the Mayol name has made its mark. Many other families have their daggers, but no one has my piece of bone.”
