We are proud to invite you to our 14th edition of the LARP weapon manufacturing training at April 6th and 7th, 2024!

This training takes place over two intensive days of 10 hours each. You'll be building an artifact weapon of your own design.
During the course, we'll teach you the different manufacturing techniques you can use at home or in a workshop with industrial equipment.

Here is an overview of the course outline:

Saturday

• Workshop tour and introduction to latex weapon making

• Health and safety

• Description of materials, tools and handing out of the course outline

• Rules and techniques of pattern making for safe tips (The pattern is provided for the current project)

• Descriptions of the different foams and their properties.

• Tracing and cutting of the evazote 50

• Descriptions of the types of structures and their particularities. (Structure of the current project provided)

• The assembly and use of contact adhesives, the use of reinforcements and quality tests

• The tracing of sandblasting guides

• Carving of blades, guards and pommels; description of tools and techniques

• Practice period on small test and final carving of the project in progress

• Preparation of surfaces for latex application.

Sunday

• Latexing, techniques and tools. (3 layers will have already been applied)

• Description of the different applications with brush or sprayer

• Explanation of the properties of latex and additives

• Techniques for making handles and explanation of materials

• Fabrication of the handle of the current project

• Painting techniques, explanation of tools, list of materials and their suppliers

• Varnish technique and application

• Final assembly of the current project

• Review of manufacturing steps, materials and safety rules

Your project

You will have to choose between 3 types of weapons: sword, axe or mace. You'll also need to choose a length: Sword from 70 cm to 120 cm. Axe and mace from 70 to 90 cm.

To facilitate our work, we invite you to send us a picture or a sketch for reference as well as a description, your choice of colors and any other relevant information.

Materials

Materials will be available for purchase at the end of the course. This training includes two discount options that you can use on site and avoid shipping costs. Either 10% off for one year or 35% off for a single order. Some materials are exclusive and therefore not available on our

website.

Who can participate in this training?

This training is offered to people 16 years and older. However, it is possible for a person between 10 and 15 years old to attend. They must be accompanied by an adult. Only one registration is required. Only one project will be completed. An additional fee of $50 will apply for lodging.

Location

The training is held at our workshop, 4091 route des Lacs, Saint-Élie-de-Caxton.

Meals

Meals are not included. The dining room at Ateliers Nemesis

has a refrigerator with freezer, microwave, toaster oven, panini oven and

Accommodation
